Shantae: Off to a New Adventure

This took quite a while since it's the first time I've drawn an actual detailed background instead of avoiding them. Pretty much my entire spare time of four days went into this since I've discovered the contest extremely late. Ultimately though, it was totally worth it. Drawing backgrounds (despite it being a shitload of work) is actually a kinda relaxing thing to do. I really need to look into digital painting though. Also, I've apparently invented saltwater lilies.

And now I really need some sleep.
